Bakersfield Parent Nursery is a play-based, parent-participation cooperative preschool in Bakersfield for children ages 2–6. Our school gives children a warm, engaging place to learn through play, creativity, exploration, outdoor experiences, and hands-on discovery.
As a cooperative preschool, parents are part of the school community. Families help in the classroom, support school events, and work alongside teachers to create a nurturing environment while helping keep tuition affordable.
Parent involvement: Parents get a front-row seat to their child’s early education by helping in the classroom and becoming part of the school community.
Small class sizes: Our 1:5 teacher-to-child ratio helps children receive attention, support, and encouragement.
Play-based learning: Children build social, emotional, language, motor, and problem-solving skills through meaningful play and hands-on experiences.
A true family community: Families build lasting friendships while children learn, grow, explore, and develop confidence at their own pace.

Building with blocks provides opportunities to problem solve, plan and explore concepts such as spatial awareness, hand-eye coordination and balance.
Science opportunities like this exploration with baking soda and vinegar allow our children opportunities to explore concepts of cause and effect, language development, and fine motor development.
